in Internal Medicine, part of Optum, seeks a friendly, detail-oriented individual with a patient-focused approach. As a Receptionist, you will play a vital role in completing essential processes while working collaboratively with the care team to support our organizational mission. Your commitment to excellent customer service and adherence to Lean processes will contribute to achieving our financial, clinical, and service goals. Schedule:
Monday through Friday, a 40-hour work week between 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, with rotating Saturdays from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Specific schedule to be determined upon hire. Location:
355 Kear Street, Second Floor, Yorktown, NY 10598 Key Responsibilities: Accurately collect and update patient information, including name, address, and insurance details. Conduct insurance verifications on the date of service. Obtain necessary patient signatures on required documents. Organize, file, and maintain medical records. Confirm and schedule appointments efficiently. Respond promptly and courteously to incoming and outgoing calls. Follow cash security protocols according to Optum guidelines. Perform timely referral documentation. Assist with follow-up services, including scheduling specialist appointments. Comply with Optum's standards regarding employee policies. Collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve team goals. Thrive in a fast-paced environment. Ensure continuity of care through effective scheduling and tracking. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Adhere to policies that ensure quality patient care. Demonstrate precision in document scanning and management. Stay informed on current medical requirements related to the role, including confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and OSHA standards. Provide support in other locations as needed. Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years in a medical front office role handling scheduling, check-in/out, insurance verification, co-pay collection, and medical records maintenance. Experience with electronic health records (EPIC). Familiarity with medical terminology. Essential Soft Skills: Ability to work independently with good judgment. Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills. Work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent collaboration skills with healthcare providers. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Salary for this position ranges from $16.00 to $27.69 per hour, depending on various factors.
