Overview
The Naugatuck Valley Health District is seeking a full-time (35 hours per week) Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator / Medical Reserve Corps Coordinator. This position will encompass planning and implementation of preparedness activities focused on the Fifteen Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Capabilities for a local public health district serving six municipalities with approximately 127,000 residents. This position reports to the District Director of Health and is responsible for a full range of preparedness activities (e.g., plan development, training, communications, drills, and volunteer coordination) to ready the district response to public health emergencies including natural and manmade disasters.
Responsibilities
Plan, develop, and implement public health preparedness activities and response plans.
Coordinate training, communications, drills, and volunteer management, including Medical Reserve Corps coordination.
Support readiness efforts for natural and manmade public health emergencies for six municipalities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in public health, emergency management, or related field; experience in a public health agency, preparedness field, or comparable setting.
Master’s degree is a plus.
Strong planning background and emergency response orientation is desirable.
Employment details
Full-time position (35 hours per week).
Funded with grants and eligible for benefits of a full-time employee in accordance with the District’s Personnel Policies.
Continued employment is contingent upon availability of funding and performance.
