Position Description

The Parts Advisor is responsible for the ordering of automotive parts by taking and clarifying work orders from customers, technicians, and/or the Parts Manager. Ensures that the right parts are used, cost efficiency is maintained, and the customer receives exceptional high-quality service.

Essential Functions

Record new parts inventory and accurately maintain auto parts databases.

Ensures that the right parts are being used and cost efficiency is maintained

Identify the necessary automotive parts to complete the job successfully.

Ensures job knowledge by keeping up to date on new products, industry innovations and new sources for products.

Call suppliers/vendors to find the best product price to buy each part.

Maintains parts inventory by verifying current supplies and placing necessary orders.

Stocks items by unpacking, arranging, and placing items into storage areas.

Maintains a safe and secure environment by following safety standards and procedures.

Deliver parts to technician workspaces in a timely fashion, undamaged, and accurate manner.

Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to our customers.

Requirements

Exceptional customer services skills

2 years of Parts Counterperson experience in a fast-paced auto dealership or repair shop

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Ability to explain complex auto repairs and reasons for repair decisions to customers in a manner that makes sense

Data entry and Parts Database knowledge

Superior telephone communications ability

Strong ability to identify and recognize auto parts products

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Professional and clean appearance with proper Garavel uniform and name tag worn
