Process Small Business Administration (SBA) loan applications, prepare SBA loan docs for closings, fund new SBA business loans, and assist in preparing annual review requirements prior to loan closing. Assist SBA Loan Officers and SBA Underwriters in the development and growth of the department. This position will generally process SBA 7(a) loans.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Process incoming SBA loan applications. Review the loan for basic SBA (504, 7(a), Express) eligibility requirements during initial application processing. Prepare and mail disclosures. Assist SBA Loan Officers and SBA Underwriters with orders, verifications, and file requirements throughout the loan closing process. Ensuring compliance concerning all SBA operating procedures and regulations. Process and order all required SBA forms and submissions. Perform various post-closing duties on loan files such as following up on the receipt of final title policies and deeds, paying fees, and quality control. Assist with various business loan duties such as balancing General Ledger’s and working on reports. Communicate with SBA Loan Officers and SBA Underwriters throughout the loan process. Assisting in training of new hires on aspects of the loan process. Completing loan checklists and personal loan audits once a loan is processed. Novice knowledge in processing SBA and complex commercial construction loans. Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. One to three years of commercial loan processing experience required. Experience processing and closing SBA 7(a) loans preferred. Excellent data processing and computer skills with an eye for detail. Ability to work under pressure and in an organized manner. Excellent communication and people skills.
Performance Standard:
Must take pride in department by processing loans in a timely efficient, and organized manner with a high attention to detail. Must be professional and courteous in manner, with a focus on attendance, quality, and quantity of work performed. Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by ICCU.
Physical Requirements:
Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, etc.). Sit for extended periods of time. Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to loan file folders, copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc. Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers. Reach keyboards. Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
