1-on-1 Online Tutoring — Provide personalized instruction to individual students. Instant Tutoring — Accept on-demand tutoring requests whenever you’re available. Deliver engaging, clear explanations and adapt instruction to meet each student’s needs. Utilize the platform’s tools to support instruction and track student progress. What We Look For In a Tutor
Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style. Expertise in HESI and the ability to explain concepts clearly. Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles. Prior tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education are preferred. Compensation and Benefits
Base contract rates start at $18/hour and can increase for specialized subjects; pay can reach up to $40/hour with the same student over time. Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions you conduct and invoice. Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like. Tutor remotely using a purpose-built Live Learning Platform—no commuting required. Get matched with students suited to your teaching style and expertise. AI-powered Tutor Copilot provides real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features to save prep time. We handle logistics—you invoice for your tutoring sessions and we take care of payments. Note: Varsity Tutors does not contract with tutors in Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, or Puerto Rico.
