Inventory Control Specialist

Job description
Performs all duties related to maintaining accurate inventory counts on a perpetual cycle, including physical inventory, inventory adjustments, reporting, physical resolution and control. Reports dollar impact of inventory counts and adjustments on a weekly basis. Performs inventory maintenance of current stock on a daily basis. Assists in compiling data from inventory system and selecting targeted inventory items for scheduled cycle counting. Identifies and reports on stock and location discrepancies as necessary. Assists in other inventory and purchasing duties as identified and as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures in Inventory Control and Purchasing. - Learn Purchasing software (NxTrend)
- Maintain a count schedule and perform weekly counts for each store/whse.
- Perform weekly cycle counts with the TEC branches
- Provide branch support for adjustments. Perform adjustments in a timely manner with a goal of cleaning requests the same day.
- Provide branch support for all process issues, troubleshooting, etc. Help resolve issues and train branch managers in proper process.
- Train others in Inventory Control as scheduled or as the situation arises. Ensure those seeking help and/or making errors are taught how to do things the correct way.
- Ensure non-stock inventory is not added into regular stock without proper vetting and review. - Coordinate with the buyers to provide special/targeting counts for problem areas. - Report and resolve issues.
REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES
- Issue Weekly Report Card outlining Cycle Count weekly plan, YTD branch results, weekly branch results and $$ impact by branch.
- Analyze issues and trends from the weekly report to target additional/corrective actions at the branch.
- Weekly resolution inventory reports (includes Bad Tie; Inv w/out Location; other as required)
OTHER INVENTORY CONTROL & SYSTEM MANAGEMENT DUTIES:
- Coordinate activities with the other Inventory Control Specialist(s)
- Crosstrain as back-up responsibility for maintaining PO mailbox.
- Review, print and send PO's.
- Keep box clear on the hour.
- Perform follow-ups with vendor and branches as needed. - Maintain other cross-training as assigned.
- Complete projects as assigned. (ex: returns, scrap, physical inventories, special site counts, etc.)
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities Experience with computers and understanding of reporting tools such as Excel Excellent organization, attention to detail and accuracy with data entry Ability to handle deadlines and to work under pressure with multiple interruptions. Able to provide a high level of service Qualifications
High school diploma or greater required Schedule:
Monday - Friday / 8:00am - 5:00pm / On-site Lansing, IL

$22 - $23 Hourly
