Warehouse Coordinator
Location: Newport, DE (MEDAL) - Manufacturing - Production The Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for storing, moving, handling material. The Warehouse Coordinator takes material from one storage location to another and may be involved in the process of packaging, extracting and loading the material to be transported. The Coordinator must follow safety procedures and regulations, including wearing special protective gear and disposing of materials as regulated by law. The individual physically moves materials and uses common material handling equipment (pallet jack etc.) to move material as needed. Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as a safety role model; promote a high level of safety awareness; adhere to and support the continuous improvement of all safety practices / procedures. Unload, move and store materials utilizing manual lifts, reach trucks, and forklifts. Sort materials into designated, labeled areas according to site storage SOPs and update inventory management database. Perform timely floor walks and receive stock to investigate and resolve material issues Support material transfers from stock to production work cell Perform Physical Cycle Counting Manage material life cycle (i.e Phase In/Phase Out, FIFO) Reduce and dispose obsolete material on a timely basis as identified by ALaS management Pick orders from inventory Assist with packaging, shipping and receiving activities Qualifications & Competencies
Required High School Diploma or equivalent 2+ years related inventory control experience Experience in either manufacturing or distribution and logistics environments Demonstrates strong process and operational safety behavior at all times. Preferred 2 year degree in business or technical discipline Familiarity with MRP (material requirements planning) systems Experience utilizing enterprise software systems such as Oracle, SAP, etc Strong command of English language, both verbal and written Able to utilize primary functions of MS Office or Google platform tools Forklift Qualification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire) Working Conditions 1st shift 7:30am - 4:00pm Position involves frequent lifting, twisting, bending, walking, standing, climbing Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance.
