Responsibilities
- Work closely with internal Virtualization Operations and Engineering teams to gather requirements and build/deploy appropriate tools; provide technical leadership in development, integration, and testing of the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, supporting multiple geographic locations, network enclaves, and virtual desktop pools
- Offer input on the overall technology plan for the organization, ensuring specific technologies integrate effectively with other components of the network security infrastructure; collaborate with different technology teams and vendors
- Design, upgrade, test, and modify the VDI environment based on capacity and utilization requirements; troubleshoot and correct detected or reported faults or outages; stay informed on current industry directions and trends; deliver technology and products on schedule and with high quality
- Provide expert advice and guidance to carry out plans and procedures; ensure product development process adherence, performance and budget targets are met; deliver last-tier support for operations and support teams, including root cause and preventative analysis
- Build configuration management, service provisioning, inventory management, resource management, process automation, visibility, and self-service tools; provide training and guidance to other team members
Qualifications
- Minimum seven years of recent experience in virtualization design and engineering while managing and supporting large-scale projects
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
- Experience with designing new VDI environments and supporting technology solutions; must have experience with cloud-hosted VDI solutions
- Skills should include Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix DaaS, Citrix NetScaler/ADC/VPX, Citrix Gateway Service, Citrix App Layering, Citrix XenServer, VMware ESXi; strong understanding of multi-site non-persistent and persistent VDI environments; familiarity with networking equipment
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and systems management
- Ability to create architectural and technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer; strong troubleshooting skills
