Role
As a Frontend Software Engineer on the Product Engineering team, you will build and refine user interfaces that interact with AI video models. You will work with React, Next.js, and TypeScript to create responsive, high-performing frontends. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to ensure a seamless user experience. This role is hybrid at the San Francisco headquarters with remote work available for candidates in California or Washington State. Some travel to the office for team meetups or events may be required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of responsive and high-performance frontend systems using modern frameworks such as React and Next.js.
- Collaborate with software engineers, PMs, designers, and researchers to implement user-centric design solutions for video understanding models.
- Adhere to coding standards, best practices, and optimization techniques to deliver high-quality, performant frontend systems.
- Work with AI engineers and data scientists to integrate frontend components and maintain an intuitive UX for AI models.
Qualifications
- Startup experience in fast-paced environments; comfortable navigating ambiguity and rapid iteration.
- Extensive frontend development experience (minimum ~10 years) with React, Next.js, React Query, and TypeScript.
- Agile mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
Desired experience
- Experience with CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind) and component libraries (e.g., Material UI) to build responsive websites.
- Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Figma) and working with an in-house design team.
- Unit testing with tools like Jest and React Testing Library.
- Familiarity with REST and API design.
- Experience with enterprise-level products.
- Understanding of SDLC and frontend infrastructure such as CI/CD, build tooling, caching, and optimization.
