Overview

ServiceNow Technical Consultant (HAM/SAM) at ITC Infotech. Location: Bethesda, MD. Start: Immediate. Employment type: Full Time + Benefits.

HAM / SAM Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and enhance ServiceNow Hardware and Software Asset Management modules.
  • Lead onboarding of software publishers, licenses, entitlements, and contracts into ServiceNow SAM.
  • Configure license models, software normalization rules, reclamation rules, and discovery sources.
  • Define and implement asset lifecycle workflows — procurement, receiving, deployment, maintenance, retirement, disposal.
  • Integrate ServiceNow HAM/SAM with procurement tools, SCCM, JAMF, Intune, etc.
  • Perform software compliance analysis, optimization, and true-up planning.
  • Implement and maintain automated reclamation and harvesting policies.
  • Provide guidance on license metric types (User, Device, Core, Processor) and compliance models.
  • Align implementation with ITIL and ISO/ITAM best practices.
  • Support CMDB audits and assist with regulatory/compliance reporting.

Development and Platform Responsibilities

  • Design and develop ServiceNow workflows, business rules, script includes, client scripts, UI policies/actions.
  • Build custom integrations using REST, SOAP, MID Server, and other methods.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and widgets related to HAM, SAM, and CMDB KPIs.
  • Collaborate with product owners, process owners, and architects to define solutions.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies; contribute to story grooming, estimation, and sprint planning.
  • Perform unit testing and support UAT.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of experience with ServiceNow platform, with a minimum of 4–5 years in HAM, SAM, and CMDB.
  • ServiceNow SAM Pro and HAM Pro modules.
  • ServiceNow Discovery and IntegrationHub.
  • CMDB and CSDM.
  • REST/SOAP API integrations.
  • Experience with ITOM, Service Mapping, Software Catalog, and Asset Procurement lifecycle is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of software license metrics, publisher rules, and software compliance frameworks (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, IBM, SAP).

Certifications

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) – Mandatory.
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in SAM, HAM, or CMDB/ITOM.
  • ITIL v4 Foundation – Preferred.

Education Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
