The Planet Group is seeking a Sr. Workday HCM Analyst to join a Boston-based organization that has recently gone live with Workday across HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, and Benefits. As a key member of their HR Technology team, this individual will act as a functional Workday SME—supporting post-implementation optimization and acting as a business partner across HR and IT functions.

- Location: Boston, MA Hybrid – 2 days onsite per
- Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
- Salary: $120,000–$135,000 base + 15% annual bonus

Responsibilities
- Act as the primary support contact for Core HCM and other functional Workday modules
- Configure new features and maintain existing Workday functionality
- Collaborate with HR, Payroll, and IT to gather business requirements and align systems to support ongoing operations
- Own and execute system upgrades, enhancements, and process improvements
- Troubleshoot and resolve Workday issues with internal teams and stakeholders
- Build and manage reports and dashboards for leadership visibility and planning
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
- Provide training and documentation for end-users and internal HR teams
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of Workday HCM experience (Functional SME level)
- Strong hands-on configuration experience across:
- Core HCM
- Payroll
- Benefits
- Time Tracking
- Absence Management
- Proficient in:
- Business Process (BP) configuration
- Requirements gathering
- Workday security and data integrity
- Custom reporting and dashboard development
- Ability to troubleshoot Workday issues, identify root causes, and deliver cross-functional solutions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills—comfortable working with both business and technical stakeholders
- Ability to lead configuration updates, upgrades, and knowledge transfer initiatives
- Understanding of HR operations, regulatory compliance (HIPAA, GDPR), and HRIS best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Workday post go-live (stabilization, optimization, enhancements)
- Project leadership or team mentoring experience
- Prior experience in complex HR/IT environments with cross-departmental stakeholder alignment
- Interest in staying current with Workday trends, updates, and features
