Position

The Investor Relations Director plays a critical role in deepening investor relationships, maintaining trust, and driving account growth through proactive communication, efficient account management, and consistent follow-up. You will manage investor operations, ensure timely reporting, and lead initiatives that encourage long-term retention and referrals.

This role blends investor servicing with sales: part relationship manager, part growth strategist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investor Communication & Retention
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current investors.
  • Schedule and conduct regular investor calls and meetings.
  • Ensure investors stay informed through consistent and effective communication.
  • Ask for and track investor referrals consistently.
  • Drive account expansion by identifying opportunities to increase existing investor contributions.
  • Track and report metrics such as referral volume, investor dinners, pipeline growth, and account additions.
  • Quarterly & Tax Reporting
  • Draft and manage quarterly investor reports to communicate performance updates.
  • Ensure timely distribution of tax documents and financial updates.
  • Investor Events & Dinners
  • Plan and host monthly dinners and events for investors and referrals.
  • Coordinate all logistics, including guest lists, follow-ups, and outcomes.
  • Subscription & Redemption Management
  • Distribute and track subscription and redemption documents.
  • Maintain up-to-date investor records and databases.
  • Liaise with custodians (e.g., Fidelity) to resolve account issues.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Sales-Oriented Relationship Builder: Proven experience growing sales from existing accounts. Comfortable making direct asks and asking for referrals.
  • Organized & Detail-Driven: Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy. Experienced in handling sensitive financial documentation.
  • Strong Communicator: Clear and persuasive in both written and verbal communication. Able to explain financial concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Self-Starter with Accountability: Takes initiative and thrives in a performance-driven environment. Tracks and reports KPIs without being asked.
  • Team Player with a Growth Mindset: Collaborates well internally. Eager to improve systems and evolve with company needs.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient with CRM systems, Excel, and reporting tools. Comfortable using digital tools to manage investor records and workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in investor relations, financial services, or real estate investment
  • Sales experience focused on existing client growth and referrals
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field (MBA a plus)
  • Familiarity with financial reporting, investor communication, and regulatory standards
