Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Sales to lead Hôtel Swexan’s sales strategy and business development efforts. This individual will be responsible for driving revenue across group, corporate, leisure, and event segments, positioning the hotel as Dallas’ premier independent luxury destination. The Director of Sales will lead a high-performing team, cultivate long-term client partnerships, and collaborate closely with Revenue Management, Food & Beverage, Rooms and Marketing Team to deliver a unified commercial strategy. The ideal candidate will combine strategic leadership with hands-on client engagement, ensuring that Hôtel Swexan not only meets but exceeds its revenue and brand goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and manage the annual sales and marketing plan, including budget and forecast.
- Provide regular sales performance reports to leadership, complete with forecasting, budget variance analysis, competitive benchmarking, and proposed remedial actions.
- Oversee hiring, coaching, and ongoing development for sales team members. Drive accountability through regular KPI reviews and dynamic team meetings.
- Ensure seamless turnover of business from sales to operations, guaranteeing smooth execution, exceptional guest experiences, and adherence to brand standards.
- Partner closely with the Director of Revenue Management to align proactive sales efforts with pricing, forecasting, and distribution strategies.
- Collaborate with Marketing to ensure messaging, positioning, and collateral accurately reflect Hôtel Swexan’s luxury identity.
Sales & Business Development
- Lead proactive sales efforts to drive new business while nurturing existing partnerships.
- Oversee high-value negotiations with key accounts to ensure profitability and alignment with brand positioning.
- Represent Hôtel Swexan at industry events, luxury travel forums, client functions, and community networks to enhance brand visibility and build relationships.
- Maintain strong cross-departmental partnerships with Food & Beverage, Events, and Rooms to maximize revenue across all hotel functions.
- Ensure consistent communication with Revenue Management to align on market trends, demand forecasts, and pacing.
- Actively monitor the business pipeline, pace, and performance against goals, implementing corrective action where needed.
- Achieve or exceed annual hotel revenue goals as established in the budget.
Brand & Market Positioning
- Collaborate with Marketing to create and maintain luxury-standard collateral, communications, and promotional strategies.
- Monitor competitive activity, market conditions, and industry trends to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
- Actively participate in professional societies, luxury travel consortia, and industry organizations to position Hôtel Swexan as a leader in the Dallas luxury market.
Operational Excellence
- Balance short-notice requests with longer-term projects while under stringent deadlines.
- Ensure timely and accurate input of account activity, contracts, and follow-up in CRM and reporting systems.
- Track and analyze sales performance, producing accurate forecasting and reporting for leadership.
- Oversee compliance of all contracts with brand and legal standards.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the commercial success of the hotel.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience within luxury hotels or resorts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or Marketing preferred; equivalent experience in luxury hotel sales leadership will be considered.
- Proven track record of growing revenues and exceeding sales goals through proactive business development and strong client partnerships.
- Exceptional leadership skills with demonstrated success in team development and performance management.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to think strategically and execute effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Deep understanding of luxury service standards and the expectations of high-net-worth and corporate clientele.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience with independent luxury hotels or global luxury brands.
- Established knowledge of the Dallas market and client network.
- Exposure to adjacent luxury sectors such as real estate, private clubs, or lifestyle brands.
