Base pay range

$140,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr

Location: Chicago, IL – Near Union Station | On-Site

Compensation: $140K – $170K | Full-Time with Benefits

What You’ll Do

  • Lead HR Strategy – Develop and implement people strategies aligned with business growth and culture goals.
  • Shape Talent Acquisition – Build pipelines of skilled construction professionals and leadership talent across the U.S.
  • Drive Engagement – Launch initiatives that boost retention, DEI, and employee experience.
  • Modernize HR Systems – Implement and optimize HRIS, ATS, and workforce analytics tools.
  • Partner with Executives – Serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO, COO, and project leadership teams.
  • Develop Leaders – Build training, career pathing, and mentoring programs for future talent.
  • Oversee Total Rewards – Manage compensation, payroll alignment, and benefits strategy.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of HR experience, with 5+ in a leadership role.
  • Background in construction, engineering, or federal contracting industries .
  • Proven success leading recruiting, compliance, employee relations, and benefits.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with a “builder’s mindset.”
  • Preferred: SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or advanced degree; experience with M&A or union/non-union environments.
