Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1470-$1570 PCU Registered Nurse Job Details Location: Columbia, SC (zip 29204) - South Carolina healthcare jobs Facility: Acute Care Hospital - Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Position Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract Start Date: September 29, 2025 End Date: December 29, 2025 Assignment Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00pm - 7:00am) Weekly Hours: 36 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend as needed Patient Ratio: 1:4 Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks Charting System: Epic Scrub Color: Royal Blue Parking: Free parking lots and garages available Registered Nurse Qualifications Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license (pending license with proof of application accepted) Minimum 2 years of recent PCU RN experience in an acute care hospital Prior travel nursing experience required BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification preferred Proficient with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system Experience managing a 1:4 patient ratio Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted) First-time travel nurses not accepted PCU RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the PCU Monitor and assess patients every 4 hours, including those with cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, gastrointestinal, endocrine, surgical, and sepsis diagnoses Administer medications, manage cardiac drips (no titration), insulin protocols, and blood product administration Perform wound care, tracheostomy management, and feeding tube care Document and chart patient information using Epic EHR Float to similar units or sister healthcare facilities as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: physical therapy, respiratory therapy, and rapid response teams Maintain infection control standards and isolation precautions Participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November) Take the next step in your nursing career with this rewarding PCU RN locum tenens job in Columbia, SC.
