PCU RN Job Details - Springfield, OH Job Type: Travel Registered Nurse (PCU/Stepdown) Location: Springfield, Ohio 45504 Unit: 3East - Neuro Stepdown (PCU/Stepdown) Healthcare Setting: 30-bed unit specializing in neuro/neurosurgical, cardiac, renal, and med/surg patients Shift: 12-hour nights Weekly Hours: 36 Assignment Length: 16 weeks (Start: 09/08/2025 - End: 12/29/2025) Patient Ratio: 1:5-6 Scrub Color: Navy Blue Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680-$1800 PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact state Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required 6 months of acute care hospital RN experience preferred BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (can obtain prior to patient care) ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification preferred NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) preferred Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide provided) Neuro nursing experience preferred EPIC EHR experience preferred PCU Nurse Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans Administer medications and treatments in accordance with hospital policies Coordinate patient care across multiple hospital departments Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including spiritual care and palliative care Manage care for patients with multi-system organ failure or multisystem trauma Apply the AACN Synergy Model to support, rehabilitate, or palliate patients Respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions Administer and monitor IV blood pressure medications, heparin drips, and oxygen therapies (BiPAP, CPAP, high flow, stable trachs) Care for post-cath patients without intervention, stable arrhythmias, post-pacemakers, syncope, and chronic renal failure Educate and support patients and families, advocating for their choices and well-being Apply now to join our healthcare team as a travel PCU Registered Nurse in Springfield, Ohio, and take the next step in your nursing career!
