HR Coordinator - Employee Relations

POSITION DETAILS
Reporting to the Associate Director of Employee Relations, the HR Coordinator - Employee Relations responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist with facilitating investigations of employee complaints and suspected violations including but not limited to, harassment, bullying, contractual violations and violations of CUNY and CCNY policies, inclusive of developing investigative plans; executing and documenting work in accordance with CUNY and CCNY policies and procedures and the various collective bargaining agreements; facilitate employees' submission of documentation and other pertinent information for investigative purposes. Coordinate investigations and/or collaborate with the Employee Relations (ER) Manager, to ensure all parties are made aware of the investigatory process as appropriate and as directed communicate investigation results clearly and timely to all parties involved in the process. Maintain timely communication with personnel involved in investigations and other related projects. Assist ER Manager with disseminating HR guidance based on guidelines within the College's policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements. Work with ER Manager to improve work relationships between management and employees, as well as build morale and increase productivity and retention. Help with evaluating training programs in order to propose appropriate course(s) for employees as part of a complaint or employee relations resolution; Identify training needs for various departments, teams, and individuals. Assist with the development of strategies to reduce future complaints and liability; Assist in process improvements related to complaint investigations. Participate in improving employee relations policies, workflows, and systems. As directed, develop tracking and records management system(s) to maintain employee relations and investigation metrics and provide regular reports identifying but not limited to the following: reasons, types, duration, and outcomes of complaints and investigations. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required.

- Excellent critical thinking skills and analytical ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on clarity, tone, and detail
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong research skills, including the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data
-Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate sensitive matters with discretion
-Must demonstrate understanding of federal employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII

- Prepares and executes various personnel transactions involving employee recordkeeping, processing of new hires, pay administration, and recruiting
- Maintains an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to human resources
- Organizes and processes employee information; develops and maintains reports and queries; assures data accuracy and completeness
- Responds to requests for information; troubleshoots issues, follows up and responds to employee inquiries
- Assists HR managers with employee communications of all kinds; may prepare materials, conduct orientation sessions, or update web pages
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $77,269 - $87,330. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
