About The Role The Network Industries Strategies (NIS) group at FTI Consulting uses economic and financial analysis and network modeling to analyze complex issues involving pricing, valuation, sustainability, and costs of service across the spectrum of network industries. Our experts provide deep understanding of industries, markets, and regulatory policy, and frequently develop and present expert testimony in litigation regarding pricing, service, and other contractual or regulatory issues. In addition to litigation, we support investment decisions, public reporting, asset rationalization, and other business planning. We have extensive industry expertise with Railroads, Pipelines, Electric Power and Transmission. What You’ll Do A Senior Consultant is responsible for managing, processing, and analyzing information to develop solutions for external clients. In addition, the candidate will assist team leaders by providing analytic support and drafting for advisory services across a wide range of industries. The position requires the development of written reports explaining the procedures employed. An individual who succeeds in the position will be able to work independently and to take initiative in solving problems that are faced on a day-to-day basis, continually striving to ensure quality output that can withstand the scrutiny of regulators and third-party auditors. Responsibilities include Manage, process, and analyze information to develop client solutions Provide analytic support and drafting for advisory services across industries Develop written reports describing procedures and results Work independently and take initiative while ensuring high-quality outputs Support communication with clients and senior team members on engagements Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: Strong analytic and quantitative skills, including economic modeling and/or greenhouse gas accounting experience Ability to work with large and complex datasets and build reproducible, well-documented analysis Ability to write memoranda describing procedures and summarizing research results Solid communication skills (written and verbal) to explain complex concepts to clients and staff Ability to support and direct client and staff communication while updating senior team members on progress Commitment to teamwork and collaboration across functions Positive, professional, and solutions-oriented attitude Resilience and ability to work in a deadline-driven environment Strong problem-solving and analytic skills Strong business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit, including identifying and pursuing new business opportunities How You’ll Grow We are committed to investing in your professional development with programs focused on leadership and growth.
