Job Title : Staff Tunnel/Geotechnical Engineer
Location : San Francisco, CA (Hybrid workplace model)
Overview : WSP is seeking a full-time Staff Tunnel/Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geotechnical & Tunneling National Business Line Team in San Francisco. You will work on projects that require geotechnical analysis and tunneling experience, and contribute to a rapidly expanding team supporting client objectives.
Your Impact
Perform geotechnical analysis and design of foundations, embankments/cuts, tunnels, support of excavations, and earth retaining systems. Prepare geotechnical memoranda, data and design reports. Assist with engineering design plans and specifications, estimating quantities for cost estimates, and design documentation. Provide geotechnical support during construction and conduct field inspection of geotechnical construction. Conduct geotechnical investigations and develop laboratory testing programs. Qualifications
Required : Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering 1–2 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering Interest in tunneling and geotechnical engineering Good verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of 2D and 3D finite element geotechnical modeling Proficiency with technical writing, MS Office, AutoCAD, Python, numerical modeling software, and MATLAB Commitment to workplace safety and ability to follow WSP safety, drug/alcohol and harassment policies Preferred : Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical focus Experience on tunnel and underground transportation projects Experience with geotechnical software (Ensoft, Bentley, Rocscience, Itasca, GeoMotions) Ability and willingness to travel for field work Compensation & Benefits
WSP provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings. Expected Salary: $90,000 – $110,000. WSP USA reserves the right to modify compensation based on education, experience, location and internal equity. About WSP
