JOB SUMMARY This list of applicants will be used to fill an immediate need for substitute assignments. The substitute pay rate is $25.18 per hour.
Under general supervision, loads, unloads, and operates a medium truck or a van in the distribution of supplies, materials, furniture, food, laundry, equipment, mail, and money; counts, records, and stores supplies; performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Drives a scheduled route to schools, departments, and district offices to deliver and pickup mail, educational materials, equipment, laundry, and/or food. Loads and unloads trucks with a wide variety of school district materials, supplies, and equipment, including heavy food carts, barbecues, and other heavy equipment for district or food services, maintenance, construction, and repair; secures loads and fastens cargo. Verifies accuracy of paperwork and keeps records of quantities and accounts for items. Transports money according to District policies. Performs pre-trip inspections and performs preventive maintenance to trucks and makes minor or emergency repairs or adjustments when necessary. Operates a forklift, stock picker, hand truck, and pallet jack. Keeps warehouse and trucks clean and orderly. Participates in periodic and/or annual inventories. Drives a van to various vendors to obtain mechanical repair materials for various maintenance and operations projects throughout the district. MARGINAL DUTIES
Assists in general warehousing duties, including the use of computers, in filling orders, stocking shelves, and unloading and inspecting materials. May participate in training new employees.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Education and Experience

Graduation from high school or equivalent, and one year (equivalent to full-time work) of truck driving experience or warehousing or messenger experience which involved driving a medium truck. Part-time experience will be considered and adjusted appropriately. Any other combination of training and experience which would likely provide the required skills, knowledge and abilities may be considered.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATE

Must possess and maintain a valid Class C California Driver License and remain insurable at the standard insurance market rate. Positions in Food Service will need to obtain a Food Handler Card.
Candidates must submit a recent (within the last 30 days) DMV driving record by the oral rating exam.

Outside and district candidates will be placed on one ranked list, with eligible permanent district employees receiving five seniority points which will be added to their final scores.
