Overview
An Omni Dispatcher is responsible for dispatching company and third-party trucking, as well as, fielding calls from customers.
Responsibilities
Coordinate freight movements. Dispatch and assign drivers for customers in locations. Provide quality customer service to all internal and external customers. Effectively communicate with yard managers to access their transportation/dispatch needs. All other tasks as assigned. Qualifications
Required
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with other departments and all levels of employees. Must always represent the company in a positive and professional manner to enhance the company's image with employees, leadership, and the public. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and demonstrate effective time management skills. Strong working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and Excel. Knowledge of Federal and State DOT regulations. Ability to make quick decisions in an ever changing fast paced work environment. Preferred
Bachelor's Degree/Associate's Degree in Transportation Management or related field and/or minimum three years of experience in dispatch. CDL or previous driving experience.
