Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery used in paper converting, including rewinding, folding, conveying, and packaging equipment. Your role will involve reading electrical and mechanical drawings, testing fuses, resetting electrical overloads on motors, and diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues. You will also change out electrical motors, repair or replace various mechanical components, and perform welding tasks. Additionally, you will engage in preventative maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical problems independently.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
Test fuses and reset electrical overloads on motors.
Diagnose electrical and mechanical problems.
Change out and correctly wire electrical motors.
Repair or replace shafts, gearboxes, belts, chains, sprockets, idler rollers, gears, guards, brakes, air and hydraulic cylinders, pumps, clutches, and bearings.
Perform welding using ark, mig, tig, and flame cutting techniques.
Implement preventative maintenance systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical problems with minimal supervision.
Utilize personal tools for maintenance tasks.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues.
Experience with repair and maintenance of machinery.
Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Welding skills in ark, mig, tig, and flame cutting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School diploma required.
Technical degree and/or related equivalent experience preferred.
5+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance.
