JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for sourcing and executing the procurement activity for raw materials, chemicals and facility supplies.
Primary Responsibility
Works closely with management with respect to raw material forecasting. Evaluates raw material forecast submitted by management, sales, and production to suggest adjustments based off changes pertaining but not limited to production, warehousing, and inventory position. Review supplier shipping schedules against the raw material forecast to identify and resolve future potential inventory issues. Assist with sourcing raw materials and packaging supplies by interviewing suppliers to obtain price and specification information. Works with management to troubleshoot and resolve quality problems with suppliers. Assist in managing bulk tank inventory levels to support production as needed. Resolve accounts payable discrepancies in a timely manner. Assist with updating inventory spreadsheets and verifying inventory as needed. Coordinate the logistics of raw materials from overseas shipments. Ensures data integrity in the ERP system as well as streamlining transactional elimination opportunities Monitor supplier performance and participate in audit controls for the business unit. Qualifications and Education Requirements
Associate's degree in business related field preferred At least 1 to 3 years of purchasing experience or education in a related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills. Chemical and/or manufacturing experience desired. Familiarity with ERP systems, specifically data entry and inventory control. Demonstrated ability to manage time and be a self-starter: initiative is a must. Proactive communication - monitors raw material supply vs. production schedule and informs production staff of anticipated problems and issues. Detail oriented - accurate entry of data and ability to quickly and accurately identify discrepancies of ordered and received goods. Track record of following up with vendors on orders placed, identifying shipment and other timing delays. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with company personnel and vendors. Comfortable working in Plant/Warehouse environment Other duties as assigned.
