General Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency setting. This role demands strong clinical expertise, sound decision-making skills, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.

Essential Functions: Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients across all age groups with diverse medical conditions. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound care. Order and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory work, imaging studies, and EKGs. Prescribe medications and manage treatments independently and collaboratively with attending physicians. Stabilize and manage critically ill or injured patients during emergency situations. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding care plans and treatments. Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, efficiency, and satisfaction. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within electronic medical records. Provide patient education and discharge planning, including follow-up care instructions and specialist referrals as needed. Participate in ongoing HIPAA training and ensure compliance with privacy regulations. Adhere strictly to medical staff policies, procedures, and protocols to support efficient operations. Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required:

Comprehensive knowledge of trauma, critical care, and emergency medical conditions. Understanding and adherence to HIPAA regulations and proper handling of Protected Health Information (PHI). Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program. Preferred Education and Experience:

At least 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department or urgent care setting. Required Licenses and Certifications:

Active, unrestricted state licensure as an APRN or PA. Active, unrestricted DEA registration. Current ACLS, BLS, and ATLS certifications.
