Details Client NamePresbyterian Santa Fe Medical Center Job TypeTravel OfferingAllied ProfessionRadiology SpecialtyEcho Tech Job ID33806581 Job TitleAdult Echo Tech - Cardiovascular Lab Weekly Pay$3057.27 Shift Details ShiftDay - 10x4 - 07AM Scheduled Hours40 Job Order Details Start Date09/22/2025 End Date01/03/2026 Duration15 Week(s) Job DescriptionJob Title: Adult Echo Tech Profession: Clinical - Allied Specialty: Cardiovascular Lab Duration: 15 weeks Shift: Monday through Friday Hours per Shift: 10 hours (0700 to 1730 with a 30-minute lunch break) Experience: One to four (1-4) years of inpatient/outpatient cardiac ultrasound experience License: Must have state licensing for Medical Imaging or Clienttion Therapy Certifications: - ARDMS/RDCS with one of the following specialties: AE, FE, PE, or CCI credential: RCS, RCCS - BLS completed through recognized organizations Must-Have: - High School Diploma or GED - Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and principles of ultrasound Description: Performs all cardiac ultrasound (echocardiograms). Produces images of the heart to show hemodynamics and function via cardiac ultrasound. Ensures patient safety through the use of procedure protocols and policies. Continues to hone skills and techniques as a beginner sonographer. Develops technical skills and learns different procedures. Performs all routine echocardiograms independently for evaluation of possible abnormal heart defects or disease (inpatient or outpatient). Learns to perform Stress echocardiograms and Dobutamine stress echocardiograms with a mentor, progressing to be more independent with these modalities. Applies independent judgment during exams to determine the need for additional imaging enhancement or bubble study. Demonstrates basic clinical knowledge and judgment to manage the patient during the exam. Continues to develop critical thinking skills to recognize, analyze, and resolve problems to ensure completion of exams. Accurately completes charges for all exams performed in the EHR system and initiates and assigns preliminary reports in PACS. Submits required studies for case review, working with a mentor on case requirements. Keeps current with developments in the field through participation in seminars, workshops, and publications. Available for call on a monthly rotational basis. Prepares the exam room and ultrasound equipment in accordance with infection disease and patient safety protocols. Assists in machine malfunctions by calling service and alerting lead technologists. Maintains and documents communications with physicians and nursing units regarding test results. Communicates with patients in a manner appropriate to their ability to understand. Functions as a team member to organize and prioritize responsibilities to complete daily work requirements. Consults with and keeps lead technologists informed of activities, needs, and problems in assigned areas. Maintains requirements for departmental and specialty area competencies. Participates in and endorses established policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the practice of echocardiography. Performs other duties as required.
