Job Summary Assists with patient care including setting up instruments, supplies, and materials for necessary procedures Sits chair-side to pass instruments and supports direct patient care as indicated by procedure Complies with infection control procedures by stripping, disinfecting, and bagging unit after patient care provided Enters findings and procedure information in patient chart as directed by faculty and students and reviews entries to ensure accuracy Requests instruments and supplies from other departments as directed by coordinator Inventories and restocks supplies (all) and instruments Qualifications

Foundational Requirements:

EDUCATION

Required

High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED) WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

Completion of dental assisting training program;

OR 6 months of dental assisting experience LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Required

Radiology license within 6 months from date of hire SKILLS

Required

Possesses strong technical aptitude Demonstrates customer service skills Strong verbal communication and listening skills Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities Intermediate Requirements:

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.

This role requires sedentary work as well as extended durations of moving about the workplace. It requires the ability to move objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and the ability to discern between various objects and devices and to position patients. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
