Job Summary Takes impressions and bite registrations Takes, develops and mounts x-rays. Instructs students on taking x-rays Fits preliminary crowns for adjustments, creates custom temporary restorations and places temporary restorative material in teeth Makes and fabricates temporary crown and adjusts and cements Places and removes matrix retainers for alloy and composite restorations Places resin and amalgam restorations. Finishes and polishes restorations and adjusts patient bite Performs expanded dental assistant functions and demonstrates correct procedures to students Sits chair side to pass instruments and support direct patient care as indicated by procedure Confirms that instruments are sterilized and working properly and organizes them for procedures and/or surgery Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED) WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
Completion of an accredited dental assisting training program AND 1 year of expanded dental assisting experience or assisting in a dental specialty
OR 2 years of dental assisting experience AND Completion of an accredited dental assisting training program AND 1 year of expanded dental assisting experience or assisting in a dental specialty LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
