Job Description Salary: $18-$20/hour The Warehouse Helper isresponsible for managing incoming deliveries by verifying and signing for shipments, unloading items, inspecting them for quality and quantity, comparing packing lists to purchase orders, and accurately storing received goods in a warehouse, all while maintaining detailed records of inventory and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within the company's supply chain;key duties include checking for damage, coordinating with other departments regarding deliveries, and following safety regulations when handling materials. Job Duties / Essential Job Functions: Unloading
deliveries:Receiving
and unloading incoming shipments from trucks or delivery services. Verifying shipments:Checking packing slips and purchase orders against received items to ensure accuracy in quantity and quality. Inspecting items:Examining received goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies. Data entry:Recording details of received shipments into inventory management systems, including item descriptions, quantities, and dates. Stock storage:Properly storing received items in designated warehouse locations. Addressing issues:Reporting any discrepancies or damaged goods to the appropriate personnel. Paperwork
processing:Completing
receiving documents, including signing delivery receipts and processing invoices. Inventory
management:Maintaining
accurate inventory records and reporting on stock levels. Coordinating with
Suppliers:Communicate
with vendors regarding shipping schedules and discrepancies to resolve issues promptly. Organizing Storage:Manage the organization of received items in the warehouse or storage area, optimizing space and accessibility. Performing Quality Control:Ensure that received goods meet quality specifications and report any issues to management. Assisting with Inventory Audits:Support periodic inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy and availability. Safety
compliance:Adhering
to warehouse safety procedures and operating material handling equipment safely. Minimum Requirements: Ability to carefully inspect items and identify errors in shipments. Math skills to perform accurate counting and calculation of quantities. Ability to keep track of incoming shipments and maintain a well-organized warehouse. Familiarity with inventory management systems and data entry. Effective communication with suppliers, warehouse staff, and other departments regarding deliveries. Well-organized, able to multitask but also attentive to detail Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes and similar equipment Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent At least 1 year of related experience required CA Drivers License Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Prolonged periods of standing/walking Ability to safely operate heavy machinery The ability to lift and carry 50 pounds Ability to frequently bend down and crouch Hand dexterity to complete precise hand movements such as scanning barcodes, opening packages and documenting in writing Good eyesight to read labels, check for damage and verify item details
