Our client is seeking a Principal Project Engineer to join their team. The Principal Project Engineer, Remediation is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing infrastructure, industrial services, processing, and packaging projects as part of a large-scale supply chain transformation program in Zeeland, MI (Project Vivid). The project scopes are part of a multi-story manufacturing plant, focused solely on Enfamil (a well-known baby formula brand) manufacturing. This role ensures projects are properly scoped to meet stakeholder requirements, completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with food safety, quality, and cGMP/FDA standards. The Project Engineer collaborates closely with other engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver successful, safe, and efficient solutions.

Lead the design, development, and execution of capital projects while ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, environmental, and industry standards.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.

Collaborate with Project, Manufacturing, Quality, Technical Services, and Supply Chain teams to align project scopes and execution with overall business objectives.

Ensure seamless integration of projects into production processes.

Manage documentation in compliance with cGMP and FDA standards, including presentations, reports, drawings, specifications, and workflow forms.

Oversee invoices, cash flows, and change requests within document control systems.

Drive successful execution of capital projects, including commissioning, validation, and financial/change control close-out.

Project Planning: Develop conceptual and detailed project plans, including shutdown requirements, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

Design and Analysis: Lead option development and analysis; coordinate with engineering and construction partners for execution, commissioning, and validation.

Quality Assurance: Conduct cross-functional drawing/equipment reviews and field verifications to ensure compliance with safety, process, and personnel requirements.

Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate potential design and execution risks.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in capital project management.

What's Needed?

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical).

8-10+ years of experience in project engineering, process design, and capital project execution within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or industrial sectors.

Proven track record leading multimillion-dollar capital projects.

Strong expertise in process design/design review, cGMP, and FDA standards.

Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD/SolidWorks), MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge of industrial service, process, and packaging equipment/systems.
n n - n
Exceptional strategic planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across global operations.

Willingness to travel as required.
