Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Senior Roadway Inspector
to join our construction engineering inspection team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing advanced-level inspection duties on roadway and bridge construction projects, ensuring work is performed in compliance with project plans and
Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) standard plans and specifications .
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct daily inspections of roadway, bridge, and infrastructure construction activities. Monitor contractor compliance with project plans, FDOT specifications, FDOT standard plans, safety regulations, and environmental requirements. Document and report construction progress, materials usage, and any discrepancies or non-conformities. Maintain detailed and organized inspection records and reports, including field notes, test results, and photographs. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve construction issues promptly and efficiently. Perform materials sampling and testing as required, in accordance with FDOT standards. Mentor and provide guidance to junior inspection staff as needed. Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of roadway inspection experience, preferably on FDOT projects. Thorough knowledge of
FDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction , FDOT Design Standards, and Construction Project Administration Manual (CPAM). Must possess or be able to obtain FDOT certifications such as CTQP (Concrete Field, Asphalt Paving Level I/II, Earthwork Level I/II). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems (e.g., PrC, Microsoft Excel). Certifications

CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I ACI Concrete Technician CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I & II CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I & II CTQP Pile Driving Inspection CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection CTQP Final Estimates Level I FDOT Intermediate MOT Physical Requirements:
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to walk, stand, and lift
materials/equipment
