A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated Insurance Defense Attorney to join its robust insurance defense team. Duties:
Develop and implement litigation strategies for insurance defense cases.
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams to ensure timely case progression.
Draft legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests, reports, and motions.
Take and defend depositions, and represent clients during court hearings and mediations.
Argue motions and participate in trials as part of a litigation team.
Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners to manage cases and develop legal strategies.
Contribute to business development initiatives and assist with maintaining client relationships.
Participate in ongoing professional development programs, including mentorship and training.
Requirements:
Experience in insurance defense and litigation.
Strong experience in drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
Familiarity with conducting depositions, attending court conferences, and participating in trials.
Ability to develop effective legal strategies and offer sound legal advice to clients.
Must be admitted and in good standing with the New York State Bar (required); additional bar admissions in other states are a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to work both independently and in a collaborative setting.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Must be admitted to the New York State Bar (required).
Additional state bar admissions are beneficial.
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of insurance defense litigation, including case strategy and dispute resolution.
Proficient in legal research, writing, and drafting pleadings and motions.
Strong client management and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to handle complex legal issues and provide sound, practical legal advice.
Experience in business development and contributing to the growth of a practice is a plus.
Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
