A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its nationally and internationally recognized maritime and insurance litigation practices. This opportunity is based in California and offers a hybrid work model, with active collaboration across global offices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on litigation experience and a strong command of insurance defense strategy and procedure.

Duties
Develop and propose litigation strategies in complex insurance defense cases Draft reports, pleadings, motions, and discovery responses Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and internal legal teams Conduct and defend depositions Argue motions in state and federal courts Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and trial proceedings Contribute to cross-office collaboration on litigation and maritime cases Support firm-wide initiatives related to business development and professional mentorship Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance defense litigation within a law firm Admitted and in good standing with the California Bar Experience managing litigation from inception through resolution Familiarity with maritime law and international insurance disputes is a plus Demonstrated ability to independently handle a diverse caseload Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school Strong academic performance preferred Certifications
Active license to practice law in California Admission in additional U.S. jurisdictions is an asset Skills
