Internship Program Overview
As a participant in the Belk Internship Program, you will gain real word experience and exposure to various functional areas of Human Resources. You will get placed into an area of Human Resources assisting with projects in Learning & Development, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, and HR Business Partners. The Internship Program provides exposure to senior leaders, professional development workshops, structured assignments, and social events over the 10 weeks in the Summer. Interns will leave understanding the complexity of department stores and the excitement of the retail and ecommerce industry. Interns will be required to relocate to Charlotte, NC for the summer, with work-from-home flexibility.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Learn basic interviewing process and sourcing techniques Manage candidate travel, coordinate interviews, and schedule feedback sessions Assist the Campus Recruiting team with event planning and program coordination Learn basic market pricing/associated job family and how they impact job evaluations Research and build learning materials for the L&D team Prepare materials for Talent planning meetings and programs Schedule and manage logistics for leadership development sessions and programs Document key HR processes and assist with updates on the associate handbook Complete assigned ad hoc projects across HR Requirements/Qualifications:
Rising college senior planning to graduate in December 2026 or May 2027 majoring in Human Resources, Communications, or Business Administration/Management. Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by Belk for this position now or in the future Proven strong academic performer (GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred) Leadership skills that include professional business ethics, confidence, and self-motivation Strong business background with ability to analyze data and draw conclusions Proficient in Excel and MS Office applications
