Equal Opportunity Specialists work on various projects and initiatives, including: Researching and developing new opportunities to recruit, retain, and promote a diverse workforce. Developing networks, both internally and externally, to identify key talent and build ongoing pipelines for a diverse workforce. Promoting employment opportunities at job fairs and college visits, as well as engagement with non-traditional and diverse communities. Developing relevant programming and communications to enhance employees cultural awareness. Creating reports and analyzing data related to agency diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity programs. Event planning such as employee engagement initiatives, NY State Fair, and Meet & Greets. Assist in new employee orientation and on boarding. Minimum Qualifications Six years of experience* in equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, or human rights.*Qualifying experience includes working with organizations concerned with equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, civil rights, minority business development, or similar programs; or in recruiting, training, and upgrading the educational and job qualifications of protected class members.Substitutions: associates degree may substitute for two years of the non-supervisory experience; bachelors degree for four years; and J.D. or masters degree for five years.
