The ReNew Peer Support Specialist is primarily responsible for providing support to women in recovery from a substance use disorder who are also parenting. This individual will also be responsible for serving as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator to recovering clients, while assisting with the prevention of relapse and promote long-term recovery. This individual must demonstrate an ability to share personal recovery experiences and to develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships.

This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain accurate project logs, reports, and records in the appropriate files and databases, while seamlessly collaborating with the Woman's Advocacy Case Manager; Provide recovery education to service recipients through the full cycle of recovery from pre- recovery engagement to sustained recovery maintenance; Serve as a role model who illustrates the possibility of recovery to staff and clients; Assist clients with identifying their personal interests, goals, strengths, and weaknesses with a focus on recovery in four major dimensions to include health, home, purpose, and community; Assist and coach clients with developing a recovery advancement plan with the goal of reaching "the life they want"; Effectively facilitate the transition between a professionally assisted recovery initiation to personally directed, community supported recovery maintenance; Promote self-advocacy for clients to include the client's needs, goals, and objectives are focused on during rehabilitation and clinical services; Identify and provide the appropriate professional and community referrals that support the client's goals and interest, as needed; Develop and maintain positive working relationships with community groups and agencies; Identify internal and external barriers to full participation in community resources and develop a plan to overcome those barriers; Effectively maintain contact by phone and/or email to recovering clients after program completion, as needed to support long-term engagement, support, and encouragement; Develop, implement, and promote on-going community training opportunities; Promote the ReNew program and opportunities in collaboration with staff and other community professionals; Complete other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's level degree in Human Services, Social Work or related field of study from an accredited college, preferred; Certification as a Certified Recovery Specialist is required. Demonstrated work experience in the last three years with 12 months of successful paid employment; Demonstrated work knowledge of drug and alcohol treatment system(s) with a commitment to the recovery community; Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must have an ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service; Must be reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks; Work well under pressure and adaptable to change; Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality; Computer skillssufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of MicrosoftOffice suite; Must be 21 years old with a valid driver'slicense with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate avehicle on behalf of Bethany. Must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR)check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurancecoverage; Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries; Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.
