Job Title: Immigration Attorney (Legal Writing)
Job Overview:
A reputable law firm based in Las Vegas, NV, is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney with a strong background in legal writing and appellate work. This role will focus on preparing high-quality legal briefs and filings for EOIR and federal circuit courts, including cases involving FOIA requests. The successful candidate will work closely with a dynamic legal team, providing exceptional legal representation to clients facing immigration issues. Duties:
Draft memorandums, appeals, and other legal documents related to immigration appellate work. Prepare and file appeals with EOIR, the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and federal circuit courts. Draft and submit motions to reopen complex immigration cases. Handle cases involving FOIA requests, analyzing documents to inform legal strategy. Collaborate with attorneys and legal assistants to develop strong case arguments. Stay updated on the latest developments in immigration law, especially those impacting appellate and federal cases. Manage case files and ensure compliance with court and firm standards. Requirements:
Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in immigration law with a focus on legal writing and appellate work. Proven track record of drafting appeals for EOIR, BIA, and federal circuit courts. Strong understanding of motions to reopen and FOIA-related cases. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Active Bar license in good standing. Certifications:
Bar admission in any U.S. state is required, with preference for admission in Nevada. Skills:
Exceptional legal writing and research skills. Proficient in drafting legal briefs, appeals, and motions. Strong analytical skills to handle FOIA cases. Experience with case management software (preferred). Ability to prioritize and manage a complex caseload. Job Location:
