This opportunity involves working with our Fire and Life Safety Team on various projects, providing technical guidance for multi-site/phase due diligence, design, development, testing, and inspection of fire and life safety systems in both public and private sectors. Responsibilities include research, design, planning, installation, operation, maintenance, and integration of systems such as automatic sprinklers, fire alarms, smoke control, and egress analysis. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes is essential. Your Responsibilities
Interpret building, fire, and life safety codes, including ICC and NFPA standards. Review architectural drawings for code compliance. Negotiate with authorities having jurisdiction on fire safety proposals. Create fire safety strategy documents to support design processes. Design fire protection systems including sprinklers, alarms, and smoke management. Perform and review fire engineering calculations and smoke modeling. Assist in commissioning fire safety systems. Interface with clients and organize resources. Follow quality control procedures. Develop project proposals, budgets, and manage finances. Mentor junior staff and prepare technical reports. Contribute to business development and department initiatives. Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field. 5+ years of fire protection and life safety consulting experience. Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD. Excellent communication skills. Preferred: P.E. license. Experience in healthcare project design. About WSP
