A law firm seeks a mid-level or senior-level Real Estate Finance Associate or Counsel to join its New York office. The ideal candidate will have experience representing commercial and investment banks, debt funds, and other lenders in real estate finance transactions. This role offers an opportunity to work on complex financing deals, including securitization, syndication, and mezzanine loans. Experience representing commercial real estate developers, owners/operators, and borrowers is a plus.
Duties:
Represent commercial and investment banks, debt funds, and other lenders in real estate finance transactions.
Handle the securitization, syndication, and participation of commercial mortgage, construction, and mezzanine loans.
Draft and negotiate loan agreements, security instruments, and related legal documentation.
Advise clients on structured finance transactions and real estate investment strategies.
Collaborate with borrowers, developers, and real estate owners/operators in structuring and closing deals.
Conduct due diligence and manage the closing process for complex real estate finance transactions.
Requirements:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial real estate finance law.
Experience with securitization, syndication, and mezzanine loan transactions.
Strong understanding of commercial mortgage, construction, and structured finance.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple complex transactions and meet deadlines.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Admission to the New York State Bar (required).
Skills:
Proficiency in commercial real estate finance law and transaction management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
