Position Summary
What you'll do
You will make an impact by:
- Advanced Analytics & Modeling:
- Lead the design and implementation of robust analytical solutions to quantify and improve the effectiveness of Walmart’s marketing investments.
- Drive the adoption and advancement of Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA), and causal inference methodologies to measure campaign performance and optimize marketing spend for both short- and long-term business objectives.
- Apply expertise in Bayesian MCMC frameworks and stochastic programming to develop scalable, accurate models that inform strategic marketing decisions.
- Define and scope data requirements, ensuring model accuracy, scalability, and actionable insights.
- Write and optimize complex Python and SQL queries, proactively troubleshoot data and modeling issues, and mentor team members to elevate analytical rigor.
- Cross-Functional Influence:
- Serve as a bridge between technical and business teams, translating complex analytical findings into clear, actionable business recommendations.
- Effectively communicate and persuade both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring alignment and understanding across stakeholders.
- Project Leadership:
- Demonstrate high ownership and agency, independently leading and executing end-to-end projects in ambiguous and fast-paced environments.
- Set and manage ambitious timelines, adapt to shifting priorities, and coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Business Acumen:
- Synthesize insights from diverse data sources, anticipate stakeholder needs, and connect the dots across research, analytics, and business strategy to drive impactful recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s or advanced degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (PhD strongly preferred) or equivalent experience.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in retail, e-commerce, or a similar data-driven industry.
- Proven hands-on experience with Media Mix Modeling (MMM), Bayesian MCMC frameworks, Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA), causal inference, and/or stochastic programming.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and modeling.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and mentorship skills, with a track record of elevating analytical rigor within teams.
Data science, machine learning, optimization models, and related expertise are valued as components of the role. Knowledge of accessibility and WCAG 2.2 AA standards is desirable.

- Option 2- Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 year of analytics-related experience.
- Option 3- 5 years of analytics or related field experience.

- Experience creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of accessibility best practices for WCAG compliance.
