CMC Strategic Sourcing Manager

Base pay range

$65.00/hr - $75.00/hr

The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management will lead sourcing projects, supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and inventory management across multiple categories. This role will support both new product development and ongoing operations, while influencing cross-functional teams and driving supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead supplier selection, RFP/RFQ/RFI processes, contract negotiations, and supplier performance management.
• Manage procurement, purchase orders, and component inventory.
• Support/lead business review meetings (BRMs) and Operational Excellence initiatives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders (Manufacturing, Quality, Technical Development, etc.) to ensure supplier alignment.
• Prepare, challenge, and track contracts and sourcing documents.
• Coordinate supplier and internal meetings; document key decisions.
• Provide strategic sourcing support across projects, from development through commercialization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech or manufacturing experience; advanced degree (MBA/PhD) preferred.
• Experience leading external manufacturing service providers or material suppliers.
• Strong knowledge of CMC development, GMP regulations (21 CFR 11, 210, 211, 820).
• Skilled in SAP or ERP systems.
• Proven contract negotiation and supplier management experience.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
• Strong communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience with combination products a plus.
