Overview
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. You will help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's cloud services, working directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers.
Base pay range: $118,200.00/yr - $204,300.00/yr. This description includes responsibilities, qualifications, and team context. The role is full-time and located in the US, with travel expectations as noted in the qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical engagement and the ultimate success around specific implementation projects; define implementation architectures, respond to RFPs, and develop expertise in AWS technologies and how to construct applications and services on the AWS platform.
- Be a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services; lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS solution architect community.
- Provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to customers; collaborate with sales and business development teams to evangelize the AWS platform.
- Lead technical enablement for customers/partners (e.g., Immersion Days) and document best practices to accelerate deployments (e.g., whitepapers, blogs, code).
- Capture customer feedback and demand to evolve the AWS platform.
About the Team
Known as the EdTech SouthEast Team, part of the NAMER based WWPS EdTech team. The EdTech and Govtech teams form the XTech family within the SLG/EDU domain. The EdTech teams work with Education Institutions and ISVs, guiding them through prem-to-cloud migrations and modernization projects. There is a seasonal rhythm aligned with the school year.
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 4+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in software or Internet industries
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in software development or Internet-related industries
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective
