Overview
100% remote role at a Series A AI startup. Salary: $175,000 - $210,000 per year, base salary + equity. Employment Type: Full-time. Location: 100% remote, any time zone in the US (preference for EST or CST, but flexible).
We are working with a Series A LegalTech AI startup modernizing enterprise law firms’ deal processes through backend infrastructure and AI integration. The team is 20 people (including 9 engineers) and has achieved over $1M ARR in the last five months. They are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to expand core product capabilities and require AI / ML Ops / LLM experience.
Tech Stack: Go, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, React, Temporal, GitOps, ArgoCD, OpenAI, Anthropic.

Responsibilities
- Expand core product capabilities as a Senior Backend Engineer
- Contribute to backend infrastructure development and architecture
- Collaborate with AI/ML teams to integrate AI features and operations (LLMs, AI Agents)
- Build scalable services and ensure reliability in a production environment
- Ship backend solutions used by enterprise customers and support greenfield initiatives
Ideal Background
- 5-10 years of experience as a backend or backend-leaning full‑stack engineer
- Strong preference for Golang; open to Java/C/C++/C#/Rust
- Experience with LLMs / AI Agents or a genuine interest to enter this space
Not a Fit If
- Only large-company experience with no startup/small team exposure
- Consulting background
- Bootcamp-only education or less than 4 years experience
- No interest in Gen AI / LLMs

- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
- Willingness to work across time zones as needed
