Our client is building a connected hardware–software ecosystem that gives companies real-time visibility and control over their physical assets. Their platform combines modular sensing and ruggedized compute systems, designed for deployment in the toughest environments.
Lead Mechanical Engineer — you’ll be a founding team member responsible for architecting, designing, and deploying modular multi-modal sensor products and ruggedized high-performance compute platforms. This is a chance to own mechanical design end-to-end — from scrappy prototyping through to high-volume production — while collaborating across electrical, firmware, and manufacturing teams.
Overview
This is a unique opportunity to join an early-stage team shaping the future of physical AI and robotics.
What you’ll do
- Design and deliver modular sensor and compute platforms from concept to production
- Lead mechanical design for ruggedized systems that perform in harsh environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contract manufacturers to ensure scalable, manufacturable solutions
- Support field deployments and troubleshoot real-world challenges
- Build out the mechanical engineering team, lab space, and engineering workflows
What you bring
- 5+ years designing, testing, and fielding high-volume mechanical systems
- Experience creating tightly integrated products that thrive outdoors in demanding conditions
- Hands-on expertise with CNC, sheet metal, 3D printing, and high-volume manufacturing
- Strong background in thermal, shock, ingress, and vibration testing
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, NX, or similar tools
- Exposure to EE/RF systems and packaging a plus
This is a unique opportunity to join an early-stage team shaping the future of physical AI and robotics.
