Job Description
The Engineering Manager will provide technical and administrative assistance to the Director of Engineering Services and assist in the operational aspects of the Engineering Department for this 1,054-room convention hotel.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Engineering Services in the upkeep of preventative maintenance, including logging work, scheduling, and assigning projects and related tasks.
- Review work orders and assign work by priority.
- Maintain up-to-date inventories of heating, lighting, power, and repair/maintenance supplies.
- Respond to guest requests.
- Coordinate with the Engineering staff on a shift basis and manage their activities.
- Understand Omni's fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation protocols.
- Understand Omni's job scenarios.
Qualifications
- Extensive HVAC and mechanical experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Union experience preferred.
- 2-4 years of luxury hotel engineering experience preferred.
- Previous experience at a convention service hotel preferred.
- Ability to work in both interior and exterior hotel environments as needed.
- Professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
- Ability to work in conditions involving varying temperatures, noise, and vibrations.
