The Analytical Services team provides a functional service provider solution allowing you to gain direct experience onsite at a pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical company while maintaining full-time benefits.
Responsibilities
- Develop advanced and robust LC-MS analytical methods on mRNA payload identity, including 5’ Cap identity and capping efficiency, mRNA sequence and chemical modification identity, and 3’ poly(A) tail length and identity.
- Optimize RNA biochemical assays to digest mRNA to evaluate 5’ Cap structure and generate high quality LC-MS data (MS1 and MS2).
- Test optimized RNA digestion and LC-MS protocols on commercially available mRNA and in-house produced mRNA payloads.
- Review and process complex LC-MS data using workflows (e.g., BioPharma Finder); interpret results, build data visualizations, and communicate results to the team.
- Train team members on sample preparation, LC-MS data generation/analysis, and troubleshooting RNA LC-MS analysis.
- Perform sample testing for lipid raw materials, protein ligands, and LNP formulations.
- Present findings to the GEnD team and disease project team to inform decision making and next steps.
- Maintain LC-MS instruments and order reagents and supplies as needed.
- Maintain and document records of all experiments, including methods and results, in electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Apply knowledge of additional mRNA analytics (e.g., HPLC, CE) as applicable.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials Science, Immunology, Biology, Molecular Biology or related field.
- ARS: 6+ years’ equivalent experience (or equivalent)
- OR Master’s degree with 4+ years’ equivalent experience
- OR PhD with 2+ years’ equivalent experience
Equivalency of education, training, and/or related experience may be considered sufficient for the role.
