Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery | Holy Cross Hospital – Jordan Valley West, West Valley City, UT
Float Zone: May float to any CommonSpirit location within 60 miles
Position Summary
The Labor & Delivery RN provides compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the childbirth process. Responsibilities include assessment, care planning, medication administration, patient education, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess physical, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications, perform wound care, IVs, catheterization, and specimen collection
- Educate patients and families on postpartum care and newborn health
- Advocate for patient safety and rights
- Collaborate with healthcare teams for coordinated care
- Delegate tasks per hospital policy and state regulations
- Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
- Maintain professional development and documentation standards
- Float to other units or facilities as needed
- Participate in weekend and on-call coverage
Qualifications
Required:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Active RN license (Utah or compact state)
- BLS (AHA), NRP, and C-EFM or AWHONN certification
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- 1+ year of Labor & Delivery experience
