Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company delivering responsive launch services, spacecraft design and manufacturing, payloads, satellite components, and more to open access space. Our Electron rocket has become the second most frequently launched U.S. rocket annually and has delivered over 230 satellites to orbit. We are developing Neutron, our upcoming medium-lift, reusable launch vehicle for larger constellation deployment. The Space Systems business designs and builds satellites, payloads, and components, including spacecraft selected to support NASA missions to the Moon and Mars and components used on the James Webb Space Telescope. Supply Chain Rocket Lab’s Supply Chain team ensures the flow of all materials, products, and components through the business. With many Rocket Lab products functioning as critical components to our own and our customers’ missions, the Supply Chain team directly impacts the success of rocket and satellite programs. The team sets up assembly kits, manages inventory, shipping and receiving, procurement (direct and indirect), and inspects materials for compliance and quality to standards. They link our teams together and are critical to our success. Subcontracts Manager Based onsite at Rocket Lab's global headquarters in Long Beach, CA, the Subcontracts Manager focuses on major satellite programs. The role includes supplier development, requirement solicitation, contract award, post-award management, and close-out activities. You will work in a collaborative environment that supports one of the fastest growing companies in the satellite industry and act as a catalyst for effective subcontract execution aligned with program objectives. Own all Supply Chain Management aspects including cost, timing, and strategy for major satellite subcomponents. This includes issuing RFQs, negotiating contract proposals, and managing supplier agreements. Develop a subcontracting strategy to meet program demands. Manage supplier execution to ensure on-cost, on-quality, and on-time delivery of critical satellite components. Monitor engineering design activity and guide supplier selection and performance based on requirements, specifications, and capabilities. Address all areas of commodity management including market conditions, technology roadmaps, cost modeling, and sourcing strategies. Represent Rocket Lab externally and manage supplier relationships. Conduct supplier performance management including scorecards, quarterly business reviews, and dispute resolution. Develop and execute mitigation plans to address supplier risks and issues. Negotiate pricing with suppliers on a first principles basis to achieve best-in-class cost structures. Manage internal communications on supply, cost, and quality with key stakeholders and leadership. Collaborate in a cross-functional team environment and work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals. You’ll bring these qualifications

5+ years of experience in supply chain management or commodity management and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (9+ years total) Excellent negotiator with experience in contractual vehicles (Cost Plus, Firm Fixed Price, etc.) Experience working with technical requirements of procured hardware and services including contract, Statement of Work (SOW), and/or specification review Nice to have

MBA or technical master’s degree Experience in aerospace, automotive manufacturing, or a highly technical field Experience in rapid growth environments with shifting priorities or deliverables Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize Excellent verbal and written communication to executive audiences Team-oriented, capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment Current DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance Additional requirements

Specific vision abilities including close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus Regularly sit, use hands and fingers, and communicate verbally and in writing Must be able to commute to buildings Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate noise Base salary and total rewards vary by experience and qualifications. Base pay range (CA) is $100,000 – $145,000 USD. Other compensation may include equity, benefits, and a 401(k) plan with company match. What to expect
