Manage and coordinate the development of traffic signals, signs and pavement markings within the Traffic Department. Lead design teams to produce design plans and engineering reports to accomplish project scopes and goals. Support clients in planning and executing contracts and projects. Perform quality control of the work of other EORs and help train the team to increase the team’s experience and expertise. Develop scopes and fee estimates for project tasks. Review, interpret, comment, and provide technical guidance on production plans for traffic engineering projects. Ensure compliance with FDOT specifications and company requirements, and that work is completed on time and within budget. Coordinate with clients to meet client needs and expectations. Participate in marketing efforts, proposal write-ups, project interviews, and Q&A sessions; prepare bid documents with fee estimates for marketing efforts. Perform post-design duties and shop drawing reviews; oversee projects through construction/integration and final acceptance. Perform tasks throughout Florida with light to moderate travel anticipated. Lead traffic signal retiming projects, including development, implementation, and optimization of timing plans for coordinated and isolated systems. Design plans and specifications for traffic signal systems, isolated signals, intersection improvements, and signing and marking projects. Conduct traffic studies and operational analysis using VISSIM, Synchro, and other tools to assess traffic flow and signal operations. Conduct traffic signal retiming studies using Synchro and other tools to improve signal system operations. Apply systems engineering principles for ATMS development and deployment; perform field verifications of traffic control devices and provide recommendations for improvements. Prepare traffic engineering reports, conceptual designs, and technical deliverables with on-time and on-budget delivery. Provide technical support and task management for multi-disciplinary transportation projects, collaborating with roadway, structures, environmental, and other teams. Qualifications
BA in Engineering Florida Professional Engineering License (PTOE preferred) IMSA Level II Advanced MOT Full understanding of Florida DOT policies, specifications and traffic signal concepts Expertise in traffic engineering planning, design and analysis Expertise in traffic operation modeling (e.g., Synchro, Tru-Traffic, Corsim, Vissim, Sidra, SimTraffic) Knowledge of MUTCD, TEM, and MUTS; knowledge of Federal, State and County roadway standards Understanding of traffic movements, volumes and geographic factors affecting traffic flow Knowledge of traffic signal equipment components and functions Project management and team management skills Marketing support and client management skills What we offer
