Position: Director of Financial Operations – Healthcare Services

Full-Time Role Overview
Our client is seeking a senior finance and operations leader to oversee the full scope of business and financial activities for a prominent pediatric healthcare provider in the Broward region. This position is responsible for guiding the financial strategy, supporting operational excellence, and ensuring sustainable business performance across both hospital-based and outpatient services. The role is highly collaborative, requiring regular engagement with executive leadership and key stakeholders to shape and execute strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Lead all financial planning and operations for assigned facilities and clinical groups within the region. Develop and implement strategic financial goals, policies, and initiatives aligned with broader organizational objectives. Deliver accurate forecasting, budgeting, revenue projections, and productivity assessments. Monitor financial and operational performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Support executive teams by providing financial insights to inform strategic and operational decisions. Manage the development of capital and operational budgets, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities. Drive process improvements across finance and operations to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and support growth. Evaluate service agreements and ensure professional contracts remain compliant and market-competitive. Oversee financial reporting, including monthly variance analysis and operational reviews. Ensure financial activities are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards. Play a key role in business development initiatives, financial modeling, and pro forma analysis for new programs and partnerships. Partner with corporate finance and accounting functions to support system-level month-end close and reporting. Lead and develop a high-performing team; oversee recruitment, performance management, and staff development. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree
in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (required) 7–10 years
of progressive experience in financial management, ideally within a healthcare or nonprofit setting Proven track record in strategic financial planning and operations leadership Experience in regulatory environments and compliance Familiarity with nonprofit healthcare funding models and provider operations 4–7 years
of experience in audit or financial reporting Previous exposure to managing budgets in a matrixed or multi-site healthcare environment Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree
in Business Administration or relevant field (MBA) CPA certification
highly desirable Public accounting background a plus Proficiency in financial systems, internal controls, and cost management Demonstrated ability to develop high-performing teams and lead through change Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills Detail-oriented with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment This position offers the opportunity to play a strategic role in the ongoing development of pediatric healthcare services in the region, working with a mission-driven team committed to quality care and operational excellence.
