Role:
Linux System Admin/Support Responsibilities: Experience with GCP and Linux/network hands-on troubleshooting. Experience managing physical desktops and servers in a lab environment. Basic Linux command line knowledge - how to use commands like ls, cp, mv, df, du, chown, chmod. Basic knowledge of various computer components - storage, memory, CPU. Experience with end user tech support. Bash or Python scripting abilities. Possible Tasks: Unblock hardware engineers to enable their work. Virtual desktops in Google Cloud Platform tasks Create new Cloud desktops, Resize Cloud desktops. Batch health/maintenance tasks, restart downed nodes, monitor for wasteful jobs, clean full /temp space. NFS scratch disk tasks Create/resize NFS storage volumes (Filestore). Provide end-user support and debugging in running EDA software on Linux; escalate issues affecting a significant portion of the user base. Floating license server tasks review/merge updated license keys, verify deployment, adjust user fairshare limits, update license tunnel. CI/CD interrupts tasks grant users access to Jenkins, create skeleton CI jobs, reboot deadlocked Jenkins boxes, disk space cleanup, attach lab computers as Jenkins worker nodes. Git/Gerrit interrupts tasks create new repos, branches, tags, & labels in Git server. Filing requests for documentation. Lab computer IT desktop setup, reimaging & software configuration.
